Results of National Green Week 2010

National Green Week! The results are in!

National Green Week 2010 was a huge success with over two million students participating in environmental education programs and activities from Feb. 1- Earth Day (April 22).

Nearly 750,000 students carried their drinks and snacks in reusable containers during the waste-free snacks challenge, effectively eliminating over 300,000 pounds of trash - in just five days!

Over 250,000 students audited their schools water and energy use and implemented eco-changes during the GEF Green Energy Challenge program. Those changes led to big results: schools slashed their utility bills by thousands of dollars within just a few short months time.
