“Here With You – Here For You”
K-5 Sustainability Education Campaign
The Green Education Foundation and National Grid have teamed up to launch the “Here With You – Here For You” campaign based upon National Grid's tagline of same name. This sustainability education contest calls on K-5 classrooms throughout National Grid’s regions in Massachusetts, upstate and downstate New York and Rhode Island to submit colorful artwork depicting how students are “Here With You (aka Our Planet) – Here For You (aka Mother Nature)” in support of preserving our precious natural resources. Examples of artwork include pictures of students planting trees and gardens, picking up trash from beaches, rivers and forests and actions showcasing how to save energy and water.
The contest is twofold in that in addition to the winning student entries, the teachers with the most compelling submissions will win as well!
Each month, from December 2015 to March 2016, a teacher will be selected and awarded an assortment of prizes including gift cards, tee-shirts and, for those in Massachusetts, tickets to popular local favorites: The Museum of Science and New England Aquarium for their entire classroom.
Student prizes include fun “I Play Green” tees, reusable shopping bags, water bottles and/or thermoses. The grand prize of $250 will be selected for each region based upon the highest number of votes given by National Grid employees.
