Transportation Fuels: Ethanol

Lesson Description:
This lesson includes information and activities to teach students about ethanol as a transportation fuel, while encouraging them to evaluate its economic and enviornmental advantages and disadvantages.

The attached lesson provides background information on ethanol as a renewable transportation fuel with three reading levels (elementary, intermediate, and secondary). Following the readings are activities to reinforce the knowledge and develop critical thinking and research skills relating to the transportation fuel topic.

  • Economic and enviornmental impacts, as well as the availability, are determining factors in the transportation fuels used by fleets and consumers.
