Cars of Tomorrow Community Research and Presentation

Lesson Description:
This research lesson allows students to practice their oral presentation skills, while focusing on the enviornmental transportation issues occurring in their present day community and society. Depending on the teacher's desire for the extent of the research, this project could take from 3-5 class days. The students will research on fuels, emissions, and alternative transportation and then report their findings in an oral presentation to either their class, grade, or school.

This lesson plan provides detailed fact sheets on an array of vocabulary and fuels that could help guide students in their research.

Objectives:

• To prepare and inform your community about alternative transportation technologies and fuels.
• To provide an opportunity for students to teach others.
