GEF has partnered with the USDA MyPyramid Alliance to help promote messages of nutrition and well-being. This mission has never been so critical; currently 1 in 3 children in America are obese or overweight. The garden is an ideal vehicle for teaching kids about healthy habits - youth can literally enjoy the fruits of their labor, while also benefiting from the outdoor activity and connection with nature that gardening inherantly provides.
